Social Green is a European Financing project which is part of the policy improvement programs focused on promoting low carbon economy. Based on interregional cooperation, it is aimed at tackling together two issues of growing social concern in Europe: precarious housing and energy efficiency.
With a duration of 5 years (April 2016 to March 2021) and with a budget of more than 1 million euros from the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund), this project is intended to improve regional policy instruments linking social housing sector and energy poverty, through ecological interventions in buildings, at political, institucional, financial and technical level.
The project consortium includes 8 partners from 6 countries (Portugal, Spain, Croatia, Estonia, Sweden, Romania), whose interregional cooperation will enable the identification, sharing and transfer of innovative methodologies, processes and good practices in the development and implementation of "green" policies in the sector of social housing, intended to be applied in new buildings and the rehabilitation of existing buildings.
To this end, it will count on scientific and technical support of professionals, as well as the involvement of municipalities, energy agencies and management authorities, whose activity will focus on organizing study visits, good practice workshops, and meetings of local interest groups, along with other dissemination events.
